The rear license plate lighting has never worked and I kept on forgetting to look into it. During the last show I left at night and when I got home to open the shop bay door I noticed the dark license plate. I figured it's a good reason to get pulled over for a fix it ticket and would probably open a can of worms with all the other modification on SUAVE K5.

I decided to go with a standard O'rielly's Auto Parts LED license plate license assembly. After a couple drilled holes, soldered and shrink tube wiring I was all set.

One note about this particular LED light, it's freakin' bright! I actually looked up the California vehicle law regarding the light intensity for a license plate. As it turns out there is no maximum brightness value. It does state that the color of the light is required to be white and the able to read the license plate from 50 feet away.

The brightness of this setup will light up the asphalt behind me. lol.
